Ingenious and Universal!! : Thule 450R CrossRoad Railing Roof Rack Foot Pack (Set of 4)

This summer, I wanted to use my neighbor's overhead Thule storehouse box for my vacation. I did a Lot of explore to see if there was an choice to fit my 06 Pontiac Torrent. while my research, I went to Thule's website and input all of my vehicle's stats (year, make, model, the fact that it has the roof rails (but not cross bars). I was told my their "fitment finder" that this was a excellent fitment for my car. I figured I would get these and that spending the money on a capability maker was worth it when transporting my stuff.
They came speedily via Amazon Prime. I opened the box and realized there was no way that these were going to attach to my roof rails. The feet must be at least 18 inches apart to provide stability for the overhead box (per the included instructions). There was no way that was going to work (I have roof rails that are metal attached to the car with plastic pieces. I opinion maybe I could take off the plastic and attach the feet then re-attach the plastic. All that did was look like garbage and left me feeling very unconfident that it would ever hold an overhead box. I had opinion these straps were going to be thin, but they are approximately 1/4 inch thick. The only way they would Ever work would be if I cut the plastic on my car (thus production the roof rails look terrible when I was not using the overhead box). I returned them to Amazon (Thank you Amazon for having great cust service).
Thule should in fact heighten their fitment program to let the buyer know they would have to seriously modify their car to use these on it.
Overall, they look well made....just be just when using Thule's "fit my car"
